Clyde Ashby received a BFA in Printmaking from the
University of Utah in 2008 and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010.
He served as an intern and teaching assistant at the
Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts with the Island Press Print Workshop, and also the Printmaking, Sculpture, and Photography departments from 2008 to 2010.
He has taught Screenprinting through the University of Utah Lifelong Learning program since 2011, and has been a member of the Salt Lake City based Copper Palate Press printmaking arts collective since 2010.
In the 2015 - 2016 school year, Clyde began full-time substitute teaching and assistant teaching various levels of Intensive English, Language Arts, and Biology at Utah International Charter School. He also worked as a Prevention Specialist for the City of South Salt Lake PROMISE After School program teaching Art, Guitar, and Bicycle repair and safety. In the 2016 - 2017 school year at UICS, he taught Foundations Art, Graphic Design, the Yearbook class, and was a 9th grade Academic Advisor.
Clyde enjoys hiking the cold, foggy and rainy rocky beaches of the Pacific Northwest.
